From no floor to newly renovated bathroom!

Georgina and her family had been living with a dangerous and unhealthy bathroom for some time until they came to Habitat for assistance. The floor had completely fallen through and was a hazard. The shower was not usable, there was a lack of ventilation and an issue with black mould. The Home Repair team replaced the floor, and installed a new bathroom with a separate bathroom and shower. Georgina and her family now have a new bathroom that is healthy, safe and fit for purpose.
Georgina is now making affordable, ZERO interest payments to Habitat.

From derelict to a safe, clutter free, healthy Habitat home

This home belongs to Colin who is 81 years old and had been collecting stuff for a number of years.
Sadly, the extra clutter had covered up the rotten floors underneath and meant the house was unsafe for him to live in. Colin had been forced to live in a care home until the work to fix his home could be carried out. Habitat came in and provided skips to clear the house. Once the house was clear we replaced all of the rotten floors throughout the house and installed carpet and vinyl.
Colin's home is now safe, healthier, warmer and drier.

Black Mould removed from family home by Habitat's Home Repair Programme.

Lakusa tells of her experience having the black mould removed from her home with the help of Habitat's Home Repair programme.

The top step is great now. It used to be so dangerous that I wouldn’t use the stairs.
I can actually use them now there is a handrail.
I’m delighted with the result.
I’ll be telling everyone at my local community centre.
